Ooty

Ooty which is also known as Udhagamandalam that translates to "Queen of hill stations" and the capital of the Nilgiris district. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. Nilgiris means "Blue Mountains". It is a land of picturesque picnic spots. Used to be popular summer and weekend getaway for the Britishers during the colonial days. It is situated at an altitude of 2,240 meters above sea level. An added attraction for the tourists to Udagamandalam is the mountain train journey on a ratchet and pinion track which commences from Kallar, near Mettupalayam and wends its way through many hair-raising curves and fearful tunnels and chugs along beside deep ravines full of verdant vegetation, gurgling streams, and tea gardens. One can notice a marvelous change in vegetation, as one goes from Kallar to Coonoor. The establishment of numerous tea estates made Ooty famous. Lofty mountains, dense forest, sprawling grasslands and miles and miles of tea gardens greet the passengers on most routes. The annual Tea and Tourism Festival attracts crowds in huge numbers.

The people of Mysore are warm and welcoming. The palace city is famous for it's silk and Hundreds of local food which is available to try. Rich heritage sites across the city and the lush green farms across the district makes it the ideal place for you to get connected with yourself and the place.

ITINERARY:

Day 1: Pick up from arrival and proceed to Mysore. En-route visit Srirangapatna(Dariya Daulat Bagh, Gumbaz, Tippu Fort and Temple). On arrival check-in at the hotel, And by Evening we will proceed to Brindavan Garden. Then Overnight stay in Mysore.

Day 2: After breakfast, we will visit Maharaja's Palace, Chamundi Hill, Big Bull, St. Philomena's Church, Jagan Mohan Palace, and Zoo, Overnight stay at Mysore.

Day 3: After breakfast, check out and proceed to Ooty. On arrival, check in to the hotel. By Evening we will visit Ooty lake and Botanical Garden. then stay overnight at Ooty.

Day 4: After breakfast Proceed to Coonoor. For Sightseeing (Sims Park, Lams Rock, Dolphin Nose, Tea factory and Tea Gardens) and Doddabetta. Overnight stay at Ooty.

Day 5: After morning breakfast checkout and proceed to Bangalore or Mysore or Coimbatore to board your train or flight.
