Kanyakumari

Kanyakumari also known as Cape Comorin, Kumari Munai and Kumari, this city is on the southernmost tip of the subcontinent and is right on the confluence location of the Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal. The unique part about this beautiful city of Kanyakumari is that this is the only place where you can enjoy the view of the sunset and the moonrise at the same time. One of the best times to visit Kanyakumari is during the Chitra Purnima during April- May when you can also see the sun and moon facing each other on the same horizon which is an absolute rare sight you will find elsewhere on the planet. Apart from this Kanyakumari is also a city of temples and most of them are dedicated to Hindu Gods and Goddesses. The main attraction is the beaches of course and for a pure experience of the beautiful waters, this city in Tamil Nadu is just perfect. Best places to visit in Kanyakumari are Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Kanyakumari Beach, Thiruvalluvar Statue to name a few. Some other things to do in Kanyakumari are taking a holy bath at Triveni Sangam, paying homage at Kumari Amman Temple and exploring the flower market.

Rameshwaram

Rameshwaram is a joint island in the Gulf of Mannar region, with the mainland between the Pamban Beach. The main attraction here is the Rama Temple after the name of whom the place was named Rameshwaram. It is said that after slaying Ravana, Lord Rama came here to seek forgiveness for his act of slaying Ravana. This is where the temple is built and the temple has 22 wells. The number defines the number of arrows in Rama's quiver. The temple is marked with huge pillars and magnificent corridors. The third corridor is said to be the longest in the world. The other attractions here are the beaches known as the Olaikoda, Dhanushkodi and the Pamban Beaches. The activities you can enjoy here are scuba diving, Chirping along with migratory birds. You can also enjoy conch collection and fishing here.

Madurai

Madurai is a place with an intriguing history, the oldest inhabited city in the world is a delight to discover. Visited by people from all over the country, no tour of the south is complete without a visit to Madurai. Shree Meenakshi Temple is a 2000-year-old Construction marvel and is a must-visit when in Madurai. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. There are four towers in the temple and each tower is embellished with a thousand sculptures symbolizing an assortment of mythological themes. There are huge lines at multiple points in the temple so do keep patience. Other points of interest in Madurai are the Gandhi Museum, Pazhamudhir Solai, and Koodal Azhagar Temple. The food in Madurai is a delight for food lovers! There are small stalls selling mutton rolls, which will have your taste buds thanking you.

Kodaikanal

Kodaikanal Translating to 'the gift of the forest' in the native language of Tamil Nadu and originally home to the Palaiyar tribal people, Kodaikanal has been a retreat long since the 19th century. Located in the hills of the Dindigul district, this modern city was established by British bureaucrats and American Christian missionaries. Kodaikanal offers a fusion with Vibrant culture and natural beauty. Kodaikanal Lake is where one can always take a peaceful boat ride, and visit Berijam Lake and Pillar Rocks. Go for a walk through the pine forest or explore the Kukkal Caves and a cave with a series of hidden ravines called "Devil's Kitchen", Kodai offers several mesmerizing falls such as Bear Shola Falls, Glen Falls, Silver Cascade, and Fairy falls that provide magical setting for nature lovers to observe and unwind. Religious dwellings such as the La Saleth Church, Lutheran Church, and Subhramanya Temple are admired famously for their intricate architecture. Kodai doesn't fail the inquisitive minds too as it has Shembaganur Museum of Natural History, which is home to 500 species of taxidermy animals, birds and insects, and Solar Observatory are great places to visit. To end your day memorably you could always go to Coakers walk, Silent Valley View Point, Perumal Peak. This 80 Mile Round trek offers breathtaking views of the plains below. Natyanjali Festival, celebrated over 4 days, is a spectacular sight to behold with dazzling dance performances and top-notch acts from across the country, which one can enjoy in February or March. You can get a bite to eat at Cloud Street, Cafe Cariappa, Altaf's Cafe and Tava restaurants.

Ooty

Ooty which is also known as Udhagamandalam that translates to "Queen of hill stations" and the capital of the Nilgiris district. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. Nilgiris means "Blue Mountains". It is a land of picturesque picnic spots. Used to be popular summer and weekend getaway for the Britishers during the colonial days. It is situated at an altitude of 2,240 meters above sea level. An added attraction for the tourists to Udagamandalam is the mountain train journey on a ratchet and pinion track which commences from Kallar, near Mettupalayam and wends its way through many hair-raising curves and fearful tunnels and chugs along beside deep ravines full of verdant vegetation, gurgling streams, and tea gardens. One can notice a marvelous change in vegetation, as one goes from Kallar to Coonoor. The establishment of numerous tea estates made Ooty famous. Lofty mountains, dense forest, sprawling grasslands and miles and miles of tea gardens greet the passengers on most routes. The annual Tea and Tourism Festival attracts crowds in huge numbers.

Mysore

Day 6: After breakfast proceed to visit Silent Valley View, Banjiram Falls, Silver Cascade Falls and Lake. Overnight stay at Kodaikanal.

Day 7: After breakfast check out and proceed to Madurai. On arrival check in to hotel. Evening proceed to visit Meenakshi Amman Temple. Overnight stay at Madurai.
